Hog Plum Tree (Height: 3 - 4 FT)
The thick, cork-like bark gives the tree a unique appearance and many are grown for their ornamental value. Hog Plums are very juicy, tart, and slightly acidic with a single seed that is not eaten. The Hog Plum Tree, also called the Yellow Mombin, is a species of tropical fruit tree that grows up to 70-feet tall in its native jungle-like habitat, but can be kept to below half that size by prunning. Hog Plum Trees have medium-green, pointed oval leaves that are glossy and edible when young and cooked.
